Soon to be beating off flocks of fans with a stick, The Conversation Heart digs right down deep into the heart of today’s youth. With irresistible power chords that make you want to crank up the stereo, this band is not afraid to indulge their cravings for pop rock anthems. The Conversation Heart is well known for throwing away the sparkles and glitter of elementary emotions, and getting in touch with the harsh reality of teenage life. Years of heartbreak and angst filled letters to ex-best friends have influenced the members to create a sound that is bubbly with a bite; a sound that they want to hear. The Conversation Heart have allowed themselves to embrace the darker side of their emotions and describe their feelings in a point-blank and bloody manor. Combined with in your face lyrics, and vocals that will make you swoon, The Conversation Heart provides the perfect blend of rock intensity and pop get-up-and-go that will fulfill your desire to sing along and get your toes tapping on the gas petal in your car.
But this group did not go from being just another run of the mill local band to having a music video featured on a national level in stores such as Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Wet Seal.
They have paid their dues in the Seattle scene and are ready for more large scale action. It is a given that while being in a band, hardships arise that must be dealt with. But the members of The Conversation Heart believe these challenges only make them stronger in the long run. Ready to take on the world with their infectious tunes and encourage everyone to get involved in music by going to a concert, here is The Conversation Heart:
Who are the members of the band and what instruments do you play? Ian Corbin - Vocals, guitar, and keyboard
Irene Barber - Guitar, vocals and keyboard
Chrysti Harrison - Bass
Brandon Thomas - Drums
What are your favorite styles or genres of music? Do your style preferences come through in your music? How do your style preferences guide your music? Do you blend genres? We are really inspired by rock, pop and power pop with a dash of pop-punk thrown in the mix.
Have other artists or bands had a big influence on your career? Any bands in particular? I, Ian, have been heavily influenced by bands like The Posies, Ash, Muzzle, Super Deluxe, Tim Cullen, Redd Kross, Big Star, Feable Weiner. The Girls are huge fans of The Anniversary and Brandon loves Pop Punk bands.
Who do you notice as your fan base? Who do you make music for? We\'ve noticed that our audience is heavily all ages based. That\'s what we wanted though. Not that we want to exclude the of-ages crowd at all, but we remember being 15 years old and going to shows. Music was everything at that age.
Describe the relationship between the band members. Are you best friends, worst enemies that happen to work well together, or simply business partners? How does your relationship play out in your music? We hate each other! Just kidding. We are all really good friends. More like siblings, actually. We\'re always goofing around with each other. Irene, Chrysti and I all live on the same block and Brandon entertains us with the most amazing stories you\'ve ever heard...seriously.
Is there a theme to the lyrics? Are the songs each their own separate story that tackles their own issue? The theme is pretty much ripping your heart out while avoiding a laser attack from Mars followed by a round of hi-fives for the dudes and babes.
If you weren\'t creating music, what would you be doing? We\'d probably all be involved in professional wrestling.
